We don’t write the following: We’re interested in writing a wide range of risks online, but there are a few that we don’t cover: • Unacceptable occupations include footballers (English Premier League, Championship and Scottish Premier Clubs), pop stars, film/TV stars and professional sportsperson/ entertainers/models. • Loan or hire of vehicles or carriage of passengers listed above plus USA/Canadian nationals and top management of FTSE 100 companies. • Hazardous goods or business based at and/or majority of vehicle exposure in restricted areas at hazardous locations to which the general public are not permitted, i.e. airside or trackside. • Emergency response vehicles. • Labour supply businesses not licensed under the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act (2004). If you have any doubt regarding placement of a risk with us, either online or via an underwriter, call your usual trading unit or Bonus Account Exec.
FAQs Q: Why have you only issued a 60 day certificate? A: A 60 day certificate has been issued because we haven’t yet validated your documentary evidence of the clients NCD proof or Claims Experience. Once received and validated, we’ll release the 12 month certificate. Q: How long do I have to provide proof of NCD or Fleet Experience if I’m unable to provide this at the point of going-on cover? A: We can go on cover without seeing NCD proof or Fleet Experience, although proof is required within 14 days of going-on cover. Q: How do I provide you with proof of NCD or Fleet Experience? A: At the end of each quote and after the premium had been returned, you’ll see the option to upload Claims Experience or NCD proof. The same link appears when going on cover. And finally after going on cover, you can access the link under the ‘Find Client’ section and by clicking on ‘History’. The process works in the same way as uploading an attachment using Microsoft. Q: Where the risk has been previously either NCD or Claims Experience rated how much documentary evidence do I need to obtain? A: Our minimum requirement is to be given documentary evidence of NCD entitlement or Claims Experience (as applicable) for the current year.
FAQs (cont) Q: Is evidence of NCD entitlement acceptable by a telephone call to the previous insurer? A: Yes. This is acceptable provided that this is received in writing on your company- headed paper and the following information is included: Insurance company name; policy number; expiry / cancellation date; NCD earned (in years); vehicle registration number to which the NCD relates; whether any claim(s) reported (yes or no) – if yes, provide details; type of policy (e.g. Private Car); name of person called and telephone number called. Q: There has been more than one insurer in the current year. Who should be recorded as the current insurer? A: Previous insurer ‘Unknown’ is available at the Quotation stage only. When a quotation is converted to New Business, the identity of the previous insurer must be accurately recorded. For previously NCD rated risks, where there’s been more than one insurer, the name of the predominant insurer should be recorded. If not listed, try recording the name of the next predominant insurer. Where none of the previous insurers appear on the list, record as ‘Unlisted’. For Claims Experience rated risks, the identity of the previous insurer should always be known. However, if the name of the previous insurer is not on the list, record as ‘Unlisted’.
