What is a School Counselor? ➢ A School Counselor, is a student advocate who collaborates with teachers, parents, administrators and school support staff in order to help students achieve academic, social and emotional success. ➢ Students grow and develop at different times and in different ways. We are here to assist each student with his or her personal journey.

Health Education ➢ Health Education will be provided to students as a push-in during the 6 th Grade FLEX period. Topics may include: ➢ Self Image ➢ Self Confidence ➢ Positive Health Goals ➢ Decision Making ➢ Bullying/Cyber Bullying ➢ Safety
Exploratory Cycle ➢ Each student will attend a 10 week course ( one per quarter ) of the following subjects: ➢ Art ➢ Music ➢ Technology ➢ Family and Consumer Science
Elective Component ➢ World Language ➢ Spanish ➢ French ➢ Latin ➢ Chinese ➢ Music (Performing Groups) ➢ Band ➢ Orchestra ➢ Chorus
Support Services If support services are needed, students may see the following classes in their schedules: ➢ English Center ➢ Math Center ➢ Special Education Services ➢ ENL
After School Support ➢ Extra-Help – once per week, per subject w/ subject teacher ➢ Math Center – open every day during lunch & after school until 4pm ➢ English Center – open every day during lunch ➢ Homework Center – open every day after school until 4pm ➢ Library – open every day after school until 4pm ➢ Peer Tutoring – sign up in October to be paired with a high school tutor
Clubs & Activities *Students will attend a Club Fair at the beginning of the school year to select activities that they would like to join.
