Position to handle the increase responsibilities of Writ Execution and Environmental complaints. This Sgt. position is FY2015 - 322 crucial to daily operations. Justice of the Peace 1 Warrants JP 1 currently has 1802 active warrants At an average of $250-300 per warrant this has the potential of generating $450,000-540,000 for the county.

Increased responsibilities As of 2017 we have partnered with the County Attorney’s office to act as the enforcement arm of the new “Cite & Release” program which requires us to track down and arrest those offenders that fail to appear for court dates. Also in 2017 we have absorbed the responsibility of Hot Check enforcement for the Tax Assessor/Collector’s office . This requires us to collect funds, or seize license plates of those who have issued checks with insufficient funds to the county for vehicle registration. Both of the above programs require county wide enforcement
