Mount Baker Middle School ▪ Consistent classroom management and a safer campus ▪ Creating more effective PLC's, beginning with establishing our vision, mission, goals and value (norms) statements ▪ Introduced Habits of Discussion to increase classroom management skills and student engagement ▪ Continued work focusing on our ELL and SPED students and programs.
Centennial Elementary School ▪ Implementing Writing Fundamentals ▪ Following Dufour's process in PLCs to create a viable and equitable curriculum ▪ Home Visits ▪ Developing oral discourse ▪ ACES/Equity/Poverty- best practices
Jefferson Elementary School ▪ Math: By June 2018, Students at grade level will increase by the monthly equivalent of one year in school. For students below grade level they will receive interventions and are expected to grow by 1.5 years monthly equivalent using the assessment results from: SBA math scores and Bridges Comprehensive Growth Assessment (C.G.A.) administered two times a year. For Kindergarten measure the use of WAKids data administered three times yearly. Promote Mindset to enhance Academic Identity ▪ Literacy: By June 2018, Students at grade level will increase by the monthly equivalent of one year in school. Students below grade level receiving interventions will grow by the monthly of 1.5 years using the student results from the BAS assessments. By June 2018, 100% of Kindergarten students will meet end of year WAKids standards. PLC structure focusing on formative assessment to enhance instruction ▪ ELL: By spring 2018 all emerging and progressing EL students will meet Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAO) at Jefferson. Level four and five EL students will meet standard as measured by the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA). 100% of L 1 and L 2 students will show advancement in oral language development. ▪ Technology: 100% 0f students will have access to technology in their home classrooms and in the tech lab at their appropriate instructional and cognitive level. ▪ Parent Involvement: Improve student learning through collaboration, communication, generation of innovative ideas, investigation and problem solving using integration of available technology.
Lincoln Elementary School ▪ Continue to work collaboratively as grade level PLC teams ▪ Improve chronic attendance problems ▪ Teach Bridges with Fidelity ▪ Develop and implement an intervention plan around 2nd grade reading
Little Mountain Elementary School AVID Elementary: All 5th and 4th Grade Teachers are using AVID Strategies College flags on all classroom doors College pennants at assemblies with Lion Roar college competition Wednesdays are college wear day PBIS: 4th year of implementation This year we are moving into second and third tiers of intervention Team Equity: Teachers from Summer training have been spreading the learning during 2 staff meetings a month Team Equity is involved in certification process Attendance Team: Weekly leadership team meetings Goal Guy challenges Weekly classroom perfect attendance awards Nudge Letters
Madison Elementary School ▪ New instructional framework: Biliteracy ▪ All students receiving literacy in both languages everyday K- 5 ▪ Integration of science and social studies (depending on language of instruction) into literacy ▪ Mapping of learning standards into themes ▪ Using these themes to create units of instruction
Washington Elementary School ▪ Math: Increase percentage of students at or above standard per SBA and Bridges Assessments ▪ ELA: Increase percentage of students at or above standard per SBA or BAS data ▪ Family Engagement: Continue to enhance family engagement through Wolf Pack Nights, additional family engagement outreach, home visits, re- designed conferences ▪ Attendance: Decrease the percentage of students identified as chronically absent to below 10%
Next Steps ▪ School leadership teams will meet regularly to monitor progress on their plans. ▪ Teaching and Learning Departments ongoing support of the coaching model and increasing the use of effective teaching strategies for all students including English Language Learners. ▪ Continued outreach and professional development and support for Parent Engagement Activities including Parent Academies. ▪ Goal: 100% of our students will graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in post-secondary education, careers, and life. ▪ Questions
