  3. 2019-2024 Strategic Goals #1 Goal: Improved Learning: Improve the learning of all Goal #2: Social / Emotional Wellness: Foster the social, emotional, and healthy development of all Goal #3: Innovative Teaching and Leadership: Ensure evidence-based best practices and encourage innovation in teaching and leading Goal #4: Positive Learning Culture: Cultivate a professional culture that values trust, collaboration, effective communication, and broad-based decision making on matters impacting our school community

  4. Overview The School Improvement Plan is an annual plan that benchmarks the strategic work identified for the following school year. It aligns with the 2019-2024 Strategic Plan: Excellence for All: A Medway Mindset in that the goals and metrics are mirrored in the School Improvement Plan. There is recognition that Strategic Plans contain elements that require long term commitments of time to remediate. Annual School Improvement Plans should provide both benchmarks towards meeting the longer term goals of Strategic Plans as well as specific action steps that will be taken during a given year. While there are plans and action steps dedicated to each of the goals of the Strategic Plan for the 2019-20 school year, we have highlighted the work connected with these areas. ● #1 Goal: Improved Learning ● Goal #2: Social and Emotional Wellness

  5. #1 Goal: Improved Learning Metrics for Success/Outcomes: Increased opportunities to meet targeted student learning needs Improved perceptions of equitable teaching and learning practices Increased % of educators reporting favorable perceptions to professional learning opportunities . Highlighted Action Steps: ● Identify connections between district Core Values and current teaching and learning practices ● Implementation of Freshman Academy model to support the academic and social-emotional transition from middle school to high school ● Explore alternative pathways and authentic assessment opportunities for learners in response to Superintendent’s Task Force on Student Stress ● Explore opportunities to enhance Flex Advisory model to provide additional opportunities embedded into school day for student academic support and access to intervention/enrichment ● Review graduation requirements to ensure all students meet Massachusetts Core Requirements

Goal #2: Social / Emotional Wellness Metrics for Success/Outcomes: ● Increased % of students reporting positive connection to their school and safe school environment ● Increased % of students reaching 95% attendance . ● Increased % of faculty and staff reporting a productive professional climate . Highlighted Action Steps: ● Develop common social-emotional learning educator practices and authentic student experiences and that promote positivity and happiness ● Develop practices that promote an inclusive learning environments and enhances cultural proficiency. ● Adjustment of attendance procedures , communication of expectations, and accountability measures ● Improve timeliness of feedback to staff with student accountability, classroom walkthroughs and observations ● Continue to educate staff & students around emergency protocols and procedures ● Embed education opportunities regarding the dangers of vaping and explore additional monitoring devices such as vape detectors in student restrooms
