Overview The School Improvement Plan is an annual plan that benchmarks the strategic work identified for the following school year. It aligns with the 2019-2024 Strategic Plan: Excellence for All: A Medway Mindset in that the goals and metrics are mirrored in the School Improvement Plan. There is recognition that Strategic Plans contain elements that require long term commitments of time to remediate. Annual School Improvement Plans should provide both benchmarks towards meeting the longer term goals of Strategic Plans as well as specific action steps that will be taken during a given year. While there are plans and action steps dedicated to each of the goals of the Strategic Plan for the 2019-20 school year, we have highlighted the work connected with these areas. ● #1 Goal: Improved Learning ● Goal #2: Social and Emotional Wellness
#1 Goal: Improved Learning Metrics for Success/Outcomes: The percentage of students performing at or above level will increase by 10% as measured by the ◼ iReady Math Assessment The percentage of students performing at or above level will increase by 10% as measured by the ◼ iReady Reading Assessment Ensure equity of experiences and alignment to best practices/ research connected with time on ◼ learning in all content areas Planned Action Steps: Pilot implementation of aligned math resource ● Articulate revised expectations for a balanced approach to literacy ● Redefine Tier II Supports in ELA and Math ● Enhance capacity in data analysis ● Align expectations through professional development in Leveled Literacy Intervention, ● Benchmark Assessment System, the workshop model and standards of mathematical practice Develop a School Schedule Committee to research best practice on time on learning ●
Goal #2: Social / Emotional Wellness Metrics for Success/Outcomes: ● Student special emotional competencies will increase by 10% as measured by the Panorama Survey . Planned Action Steps: ● Expand the use of Responsive Classroom Practices ● Articulate tier two Social Emotional Learning supports ● Engage faculty and staff in professional development focused on Social Emotional Learning Strategies ● Establish teacher resources to support social emotional learning needs ● Engage families in Social Emotional Learning enrichment opportunities

#1 Goal: Improved Learning Metrics for Success/Outcomes: We will increase the percentage of students meeting or exceeding benchmark in reading to at ◼ least 91%. We will increase the percentage of students meeting or exceeding benchmark in math to at least ◼ 91%. There will be an increase on the favorability ratings on the Panorama survey specifically in the ◼ category of Professional Learning by 20%. Planned Action Steps: ● Examine and align master schedule to create greater efficiencies. ● Engage in Professional Development focused on analyzing data and creating small group instruction opportunities. ● Engage in the pilot year of a new math curriculum resource. ● Collaboratively work to align Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) including the Instructional Support Team (IST) process and the on-going development of an MTSS guidebook. ● Ongoing collaborative analysis of reading and math data and identifying best tier 1 practices. ● Ongoing surveys to identify teacher satisfaction in Professional Learning.
Goal #2: Social / Emotional Wellness Metrics for Success/Outcomes: We will see an increase in students’ ability to self-regulate, self-manage, and demonstrate ● self-efficacy as measured by 20% overall, as measured by the Panorama assessment. Planned Action Steps: Create a comprehensive professional development plan to increase our knowledge and use of ● Responsive Classroom practices. Ongoing collaborative analysis of panorama data and identifying best tier 1 practices. ● Refine practices for reviewing SEL data ● Create a tiered system of social emotional support for students ●
