General Information • The GA DOE Credit Recovery Program provides students, who did not initially succeed in obtaining course credit, with the opportunity to retake a course to earn credit towards graduation. • Credit Recovery courses are 26 weeks in duration, have flexible schedules, and are not facilitated by a teacher. • Credit Recovery courses are complete courses and are aligned to the state standards • The Credit Recovery Program offers core courses and limited electives • The Georgia Credit Recovery Program is free to all first-time GA Public School students, and also available to Georgia private high school students for a fee.

Program Requirements All schools using the Georgia Credit Recovery Program must agree to the following: • Students enrolling in credit recovery must have previously failed the course. • Schools must agree to provide a credit recovery site coordinator. • All post-tests and final exams must be proctored by the credit recovery site coordinator at the school. • Schools will transcribe a second course grade to reflect the credit recovery score on the official high school transcript. • If a GA Milestone EOC (end-of-course-test) is required, the public school student must retake the test at the end of the credit recovery course. Students will take the GA Milestone EOC at their local public school. All private school students must take the final exam available in the credit recovery course.
