Freight T ransport and L ogistics N ational O bservatory A Freight T ransport and L ogistics N ational O bserv atory is a tool for continuous assessment of the needs of the economic sectors in relation to transportation and the supply and distribution chains It is a meeting between govermental decision makers and companies that allows integrating the needs of business sector by planning, constructing and operating the transport infrastructure and services T he project main objective is to create the structure for the Freight T ransport and L ogistics N ational O bserv atory as a strategic tool to capture, analyze and disseminate transportation and logistics information, statistics and K ey Performance Indicators (K PI) performance indicators José San Martín Romero/5
Freight T ransport and L ogistics N ational O bservatory F or wich the following main activities have been achieved: T he performance of a benchmarking on existing transport and logistics observatories at international level in order to feed the development of the N O T L T he identification of primary and secondary information available in both the public and private sectors that can be used to meet the objectives of the N O T L and the design of the methodology for its capture (data base) T he definition, description and priorization of the K ey performance indicators (K PI) to be included in the N O T L T he creation of a base line to facilitate decision-making in public management and prioritiization of public and private project investments in order to improve the country’s productivity and T he identification of the K ey public and private stakeholders that can provide the ideas and information to successfuly develop the N O T L José San Martín Romero/6
