New Middle School Advisory Bayshore Supporting our district’s personalized learning goal

What is advisory? ● Advisory is a time and place for students to engage in personalized learning opportunities with support from teachers, specialists, and interventionists. ● What are personalized learning opportunities? SPARK projects, independent reading, online programs, collaborative projects, extra help, etc.

Student Expectations ● Set Daily Goals using the Student Personalized Learning Plan Log ● Student logs will be monitored by advisory teachers, specialists and/or community teachers. ● Develop a SPARK project using the SPARK checklist ● Student SPARK checklists consist of multiple tasks which will be checked frequently and graded by community teachers.

Managing Your Time Recommended times: *SPARK: approx. 20-30 minutes per week * DreamBox: minimum of 20 minutes per week *Independent Reading: 20 minutes per Advisory session **Other may include: iReady , Collaborative Projects, Newsela , etc.
