100 years DH history 1897 - 1903 • Impossible to find areas for landfills inside the boundaries of the municipality of Frederiksberg. • Construction of a new hospital.
100 years DH history 1903-1914 • The first steps to construct a DH system in the centre of Copenhagen was taken just after 1903. • The customers were CPH City Hall, hospitals and public baths. • Heat production was based on CHP.
100 years DH history 1945 • DH systems were until now primarily established in the larger cities. • The DH companies were municipality-owned.
100 years DH history 1945-1960 • Increasing welfare in the Danish society. • Water-based heating systems are replacing stoves and fireplaces. • New company structure: • Groups of citizens join together and establish consumer co-operatives - inspired by the countryside 75 years ago .
100 years DH history 1945-1960 • What is the driver for the development? • Market • Price difference between gas oil and fuel oil is a kick-off for the expansion of DH in Denmark.
100 years DH history Oil crisis in 1973 and 1979 • 1973 • The war in the Middle-East resulted in increasing oil prices. • Oil supplies to Denmark were reduced. • About 92 % of the energy consumption in Denmark was at that time based on imported oil.
100 years DH history 1979 • The first Heat Supply Act in the world with focus on: • Energy supply system based on different fuels. • Improving the reliability of energy and fuel supply. • Increasing the overall energy efficiency.

Køge CHP Plant – History of ownership • Junckers Industrier is a producer of solid floors. • 1986 (unit 7) and 1998 (unit 8) • Built by the Junckers Industrier as an industrial CHP plant for production of process steam to the factory and electricity to the grid. • 1 April 2000 • The CHP plant is sold to Energy E2 (to day DONG Energy)
Køge CHP Plant – History of ownership • 1 April 2000 to 1 august 2006 • Junckers Industrier takes responsibility for the operation of the plant. • 1 August 2006 • DONG Energy takes responsibility for the operation of the plant. • 1 Maj 2012 • VEKS takes responsibility from DONG Energy of ownership and operation of the plant.

Køge CHP Plant – Unit 7 • Constructed in 1986 • Grate fired with combined dust- and oil burners. • Total energy input – 46.5 MJ/s • Power output – 9 MW • Outlet on 3 and 13 bar level and possibility for bypass. • Condensator • Out of operation 2007-2013 • In operation again January 2013
Køge CHP Plant – Unit 8 • Constructed in 1998 • Grate fired with combined dust- and oil burners. • Total energy input – 56.2 MJ/s • Power output – 16 MW • Outlet on 3 and 13 bar level and possibility for bypass. • Condensator • Reconstruction 2013-14 • From extraction to back- presure.
