Reasons for Honor Roll • Recognize academic excellence of students faced with the rigors of our secondary educational program. • Publicize what we value as a district. • Provide additional incentive for students.
Current Practice: Honor Roll Criteria: Cumulative quarter average is 85 or higher; No single grade lower than an 80
Current Practice: High Honor Roll Criteria: Cumulative quarter average is 90 or higher; No single grade lower than an 80
What is Common Practice? Our criteria is the most commonly accepted practice. Some notable differences are: District High Honor Roll Honor Roll Merit Roll New Hyde Park 93-100 88-92 N/ A Oceanside 95-100 85-94 N/ A Plainview-Old Bethpage 95-100 88-94 N/ A Wantagh 94.5-100 89.5-94.49 84.9-89.4
Recommendation: The district will review current data to determine if a change to the criteria is warranted. Additional follow-up in June, 2013
