City of Brampton (Comments from Planning & Development Services): Planning Staff has provided an important note on the agricultural system mapping: • o In Brampton, the only lands designated Prime Agriculture are located in the Greenbelt Area. o This designation places more restrictions on non-farm lot severances and permissions for lands. o Both Peel and Brampton staff are not sure the reasons for the agricultural designation in the Greenbelt area of Brampton. o The Region, through their Official Plan Review, will be reviewing and refining the agricultural designation across the Region, including Brampton.
