  24. • Policy 310 – Updated Code of Conduct • It is the shared responsibility of students, staff, parents/guardians and the broader community (school community), to demonstrate positive conduct while attending any school or District related activity, at any location.

  25. • All members of the school community have an obligation to: • Support learning • Promote Safety • Respect property, environment, personal space and privacy • Model courtesy, compassion and respect.

  26. All members of the school community must refrain from engaging in any in-person or digital communication or behavior that is considered to be: - Interfering with the learning and working of others; - Bullying, harassing, intimidating, retaliating, discriminating or violence; - Unsafe or illegal including the possession, use or distribution of illegal or restricted substances, or the possession of weapons or replicas.

  27. Samples of inappropriate behaviour include but are not limited to: – Expecting and/or demanding teachers to change a students mark unnecessarily – Writing abrupt and rude emails – Raising a voice in anger – Any violent interaction including intimidation and threats – verbal, written, physical, and psychological – Undermining teacher professionalism – Bad-mouthing a school and/or teacher

  30. Need your support too… • Especially, for our most vulnerable students • Achievement Gap • Reframe – Opportunity Gap • Need to close our completion rates and need to ensure every child succeeds • Need to ensure all students have the “opportunity” to succeed

  31. Most important goal … Improve achievement for all our children

  32. Literacy • The ability to read and write AND • The ability to have subject knowledge – Computer Literate – Financially Literate – Language Literate – Media Literate – Mental Health Literate – Fine Arts or Trades Literate

  33. Numeracy • We need to help our students develop the ability, confidence and willingness to engage with quantitative and spatial information to make informed decisions in all aspects of daily living.

  34. Indigenization • We need to embrace our local, provincial, and national indigenous peoples, their histories, and their ways of knowing • We need to access language entry points and develop cultural appropriate curricula • We need to be courageous and lead the way for future generations

  35. Inclusion • We need to ensure we create authentic spaces for belonging no matter who someone is or how long they have been here
