D&I Accomplishments July - September 2019 Office of the Center Director Principle 1: Demonstrated Leadership Commitment Strategy 1.1 – Senior Staff Quarterly Reports Strategy 1.3 – Mentoring Engagement Principle 2: Employee Engagement Strategy 2.2 – Actively seek Employee Engagement Principle 4: Demonstrated Commitment to Community Partnerships Strategy 4.2 – Education involvement Quarterly Highlights • (All Orgs) The 3 rd Quarter FY2019 D&I accomplishments were presented by Senior Managers at Senior Staff meeting in July. (1.1) • (AA) The Center Director mentored two employees on a monthly basis. (1.3) • (AA) The Center Director and Deputy Director welcomed new employees with an introduction to the Director’s Office staff. (2.2 ) • (AA) Deputy Director attended a Brown Bag Luncheon with NASA interns and gave a welcome speech to the Step 2 Cohort Face-to-Face group. (2.2) • (AA) Deputy Director attended a meet-and-greet with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Manager from HQ ODEO. (3.1) • (AA) Center Director hosted a meeting with Senator Cindy Hyde- Smith who was the guest speaker for the Women’s Equality Day Program. (4.2) • (AA) Deputy Director was the guest speaker at “Re -Entry Mississippi – A Delta Reunion” at Delta State University in Cleveland, M ississippi. This was a reunion of the Chinese workforce that assisted with the Apollo Program. (4.2) • (AA) Deputy Director met with staffers from the offices of Mississippi U.S. Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith. (4.2) • (AA) Deputy Director attended the Pearl River Community College outreach program/football game in Poplarville, MS. He was a guest speaker and highlighted the Artemis program, history of SSC, and Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) education. (4.2) 4

D&I Accomplishments July - September 2019 Office of the Center Director Principle 2: Employee Engagement Strategy 2.2 – Actively seek Employee Engagement Principle 3: Continuous D&I Education, Awareness, and Skills Development Strategy 3.1 – Heighten D&I Awareness Principle 5: Shared Accountability & Responsibility for D&I Strategy 5.2 – Employee Engagement in the SSC D&I Plan Quarterly Highlights • (AA/ODEO) The Deputy Director held three Management Directive 715 (MD-715) Working Group meetings with managers and employees from various organizations. The group provided input into FY 2019 MD-715 accomplishments and addressed each of the challenges, strategies, and actions outlined in the SSC EEO Plan (2.2) • (ODEO) Special Emphasis Program observance event was held in observance of Women’s Equality Day in August. The first female U .S. Senator in Mississippi history, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, was the guest speaker. Total attendance: 133 (2.2) • (ODEO) Discussed multiple EO topics, processes, and the D&I Program with new employees as part of New Employee Orientation. (2.2) • (ODEO) Completed monthly D&I related Lagniappe articles: "Stennis/NSSC roll out Special Emphasis Program" in July; "Workplace Retaliation- How an Ombudsman Can Help" in August; and "Honoring Hispanic Americans: Essential to the Blueprint of our Nation" in September. (3.1) • (ODEO) HQ provided two sessions of “Cognitive and Unconscious Biases in Decision Making” training at SSC and NSSC as a pilot for other Centers. This course used case studies to enable participants to identify the role that poor communication and cognitive and unconscious biases can play in decision making. Total SSC attendance: 28 (3.1) • (ODEO) The SSC/NSSC D&I Joint Board met on July 23 and was attended by HQ ODEO Diversity & Data Analysis Director and Deputy Director. Topics of discussion included the NASA Unity Campaign, a presentation by ODEO interns, and a presentation on the results of the EVS New IQ Index according to RNO, Gender, and Disability. (3.1) • (ODEO) Posted 3rd Quarter FY2019 D&I Accomplishments on the ODEO webpage. (5.2) 5

D&I Accomplishments July - September 2019 Office of Chief Financial Officer Strategy 1.2 – Monthly D&I Topic Discussions Principle 1: Demonstrated Leadership Commitment Principle 2: Employee Engagement Strategy 2.1 – Focus on Career Development Strategy 2.2 – Actively seek Employee Engagement Principle 4: Demonstrated Commitment to Community Partnerships Strategy 4.2 – Education involvement to promote ongoing education Quarterly Highlights • OCFO discussed Sr. Staff D&I topics "All People are Different" and "Power of Diversity for Innovation.” (29 CFO employees an d 14 contractors participated.) (1.2) • An employee was selected as the Special Emphasis Program Manager (SEPM) for the Federal Women’s Program and attended a 3 -day SEP certification training class. The employee also gave a presentation on the SEP to OCFO staff. (2.1) • Two employees were competitively selected for detail assignments; one to the NSSC and one to the NASA Exchange. (2.1) • Women's Program SEPM coordinated, documented, supported, and provided an after-action report for the Women's Equality Day Program. Another employee volunteered during the program. (2.2) • OCFO held an employee team building event with activities focused on stress management and working together as a team. Employee feedback was very positive. Comradery and team dynamics were improved. (29 employees and 14 contractors participated) (2.2) • An employee supported the Apollo 50th Anniversary outreach event at Infinity Science Center. (4.2) 7

D&I Accomplishments July - September 2019 Office of the Chief Counsel Principle 1: Demonstrated Leadership Commitment Strategy 1.3 – Monthly D&I Topic Discussions Principle 2: Employee Engagement and Effective Communication Strategy 2.2 – Actively seek Employee Engagement Principle 4: Demonstrated Commitment to Community Partnerships Strategy 4.2 – Education involvement to promote ongoing education Quarterly Highlights • Employees discussed the topic “Age Diversity in the Workplace” during a staff meeting. (1.3) • Employees attended the Women’s Equality Day event. (2.2) • Met with HQ ODEO Diversity & Data Analysis Director and Deputy Director to discuss MAP process and ODEO. (3.1) • Employees attended “Cognitive and Unconscious Bias in Decision Making” training. (3.1) • Employee participated in the Girls Excited about Math and Science (G.E.M.S.) event for local high school girls. (4.2) • Participated with Kennedy Space Center (KSC) at the Tom Joiner Family Reunion, Orlando, Florida outreach event. Shared the NASA Artemis Program and assisted attendees with a propulsion/lifting exercise and demonstrated the effects of ultraviolent rays on the human skin. (4.2) Chief Counsel attended the San Antonio Black Lawyers Association event and accepted the Legend Award. (4.2) • 9

D&I Accomplishments July - September 2019 Office of Procurement Principle 2: Employee Engagement Strategy 2.1 - Focus on Career Development Principle 4: Demonstrated Commitment to Community Partnerships Strategy 4.1 – Small Business Goals to expand diversity Quarterly Highlights • An African American female was selected as the SACOM Administration Office Lead. (2.1) • OP employees s upported the Woman’s Equality Day Program. (2.2) • Conducted roundtable meetings with QuantiTech, a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and SAITECH, a WOSB and a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) on “Doing Business with NASA.” (4.1) • Issued call and coordinated responses to develop SSC's FY 2020 Acquisition Forecast. This was done to provide an accurate representation of upcoming requirements and to assist small businesses with planning for future competition. (4.1) • Small Business Specialist (SBS) supported the Small Business Administration (SBA) Small Business Expo “Connecting the DOTS” e vent at Xavier University, Louisiana. Provided an exhibit with 20 exhibitors including federal and state agencies, 67 registered, made contact with 32 vendors. (4.1) • Supported the Dual Administrative Support Services (DASS) Procurement Industry Day at JSC. Held ~40 one-on-one meetings with potential vendors after the presentation. (4.1) 11
