Organizing Structure: A Step-By-Step Procedure 1. Open each teacher portal and go to this 6. Action Planning Each week, use the templates we provided to write assignments in ● agenda book. Parents can monitor initial work upon completion—that also adds a measure of accountability from the student’s perspective. Set Realistic Goals: chunk projects and studying for big tests into ● smaller / more manageable parts. Post the goal in a visible location (wall calendar, refrigerator, etc.) ● ▪ Define the goal: (be specific & realistic) ▪ List the action you will take ▪ Monitor / Evaluate your progress 8

Monitor & Evaluate Progress ● How am I doing so far? ● Did I meet my goals this week? ● Do I need help in reaching my goal? ● Who can I ask for help? ● When is there time in my schedule to get help? ● Do I need to make changes to my daily schedule or routine?

Incentives & Rewards This is optional and depends upon each student-you know ● your child the best, but who doesn’t love a payoff even if it’s as simple as positive recognition ☺ It’s also important for students to feel success early on (so as ● to keep them vested). Give it some time to see if these strategies are sufficient ● support. Just keep in mind that good habits are just as hard to start, as ‘bad’ habits are to break. Consistency over time is the key to success! 12

Mental Health Ideas for Self-Care
Ways to cope with stress ● Take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories, including social media. Hearing about the pandemic repeatedly can be upsetting. ● Take care of your body. ○ Take deep breaths, stretch, or mediate ○ Try and eat healthy, well-balanced meals i. Avoid loading up on junk food and refined sugar. ○ Exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep i. Regular physical activity and exercise can help reduce anxiety and improve mood. Find an activity that includes movement, such as dance or exercise apps. Get outside in an area that makes it easy to maintain distance from people ii. Go to bed and get up at the same times each day. Stick close to your typical schedule, even if you're staying at home. ● Make time to unwind. Try to do some other activities you enjoy. ○ Turn ofg electronic devices for some time each day, including 30 minutes before bedtime. Make a conscious efgort to spend less time in front of a screen — television, tablet, computer and phone. ● Connect with others .
