Virtual Classroom - Dublin High Tools & Connections: Successes: ● Team teaching with same grade level/course teacher Row One: Google Classroom, WebEx, Google Meet, Zoom ● Students having time to pursue their passion Row Two: Flipgrid, Infinite Campus, Screencastify, Padlet ● Students working independently ● Online on-call tutoring using Chat and Meet (text/video tutoring) ● Recording lectures/screen share & posting for student viewing Challenges: ● Video meeting conflicts with other classes ● Determining the best platform for video conferencing ● Limited bandwidth ● Checking in and connecting with all students ● Confusion/lack of direction for grading affecting student motivation ● Virtual meetings with larger groups ● Grading from a screen Education That Inspires Lifelong Learning
Virtual Classroom - Valley High School Connections/Communication: Challenges: • Email/phone/text • New students Q4 both to teacher and VHS/no prior connection established • Google Meets/Zoom/WebEx • Delay in credit information created both • Google Classroom & Shared anxiety & apathy Docs/folders, etc. • Addressing gaps in learning • Screencasts/Videos • Technology/internet: Access to both & • FlipGrid Excessive screen time (students and teachers) • Student Motivation: Many never did any work • Difficulty connecting with many students • Addressing Social/Emotional needs Education That Inspires Lifelong Learning

Successes: Student Voices: • Teachers became more comfortable • “I need a teacher to break down with technology assignments for me in person” ( JC 12th • Students could work when it was grade) convenient for them • “I do better learning in class...it’s hard • Independent Studies (not a VHS staying focused online” ( SM 11th grade) program, but on the same campus) • “Nerve-wracking” (RD 12th grade) • “I’d rather go back next year [as a 5th year senior] than do all this work on the computer” ( DG 12th grade) • “I have a lot of new responsibilities in addition to school” (LG 12th grade) Education That Inspires Lifelong Learning
