• Optimise community engagement o through new forms of community engagement; o that recognises the need for significant time commitment of local volunteers; o that supports the volunteers adequately; and o involves policy makers (at national and local levels) • Engaged research is important for developing innovation capacity in the local community and for informing policy, research and outreach • Training, upskilling and education for Transition to Low Carbon are important • Foster the creation of new start-ups and sustainable, well-paid, fulfilling jobs in local communities • While there will be some technical challenges, the most difficult challenges will be changing minds, hearts and behaviour • Political and community leadership is essential all levels Some conclusions 10
