Business Plan Competition Reception, January 9, 2014 Purpose - Empower aspiring and existing entrepreneurs to start/grow their businesses by motivating them to participate the 2014 HCC Newspring Business Plan Competition. Partners: Newspring, Wallis State Bank, HWCOC, Constant Contact, c4e, OEI, 10,000 Small Businesses. Outcome: 40 Applications, 27 Accepted, 1,500 in-kind mentor hours and training, 20 completer teams, $26,000 in Prize Money awarded. 5

  7. HCC Entrepreneurial Eco-System In Action 2. Import/Export Event March 28, 2014 Purpose - Demonstrate opportunities offered by HCC and local Houston Import Export Eco-System Partners. Partners: HCC International Business. MBDA, c4e OEI, SBA, Export - Import Bank, SBA, Wallis State Bank, SCORE Outcome: 87 in attendance; 158 joined database & asked for more, MBDA referrals, Possible Export Grant-October 2014; HCC Export Academy. 6

Connect Aspiring and Existing Entrepreneurs with HCC programs and partners. Provide Start-Up & Growth Pathways. - Partners: 16 Presenters, 20 resource partners - 150 gathered. - Outcome: 100 aspiring & existing business owners participated in interactive and experiential learning exercises, panels, and networked with partners and experienced entrepreneurs. 8
