Impaction/Local Priority/Redirection • First-time Freshmen - in the service area are required to meet CS U eligibility, a higher index is required for out of area applicants • Upper Division Transfers who hold an Associate Degree of Transfer (ADT) or in non-impacted maj ors have priority admissions • Redirection has been minimal for transfers

  10. California (Otter) Promise: 2 and 4 • The Otter Promise began Fall 2017 for Upper Division Transfers who completed their Associate Degree for Transfer • Beginning Fall 2018 First-time Freshmen - limited to seven maj ors • Students are supported by priority registration and academic advising

CA Promise - Freshmen • Be a California resident for tuition purposes • Attend orientation prior to the start of the first semester of attendance • Must be one of the following: – A low-income student – A first-generation college student – A student who is a graduate of a high school located in a community that is underrepresented in college attendance

  12. CA Promise - Transfer • Must have graduated with an Associate Degree for Transfer from a California community college that matches a CS UMB Maj or • Be a California resident for tuition purposes • Attend orientation prior to the start of the first semester of attendance

Our Mission • The College Support Programs help program participants achieve their academic goals by providing a range of services that are all FREE to participants. • Our goal is to provide academic support services to assist underrepresented undergraduate participants to remain in college and reach the goal of graduation.

College Assistance Migrant Program • Federally funded program designed to assist migrant students and seasonal farmworker first-time freshman at CSU Monterey Bay. • CAMP is a First Year Support Program • Assists in the High School to College transition – Services: • Attain Special Admission • Assistance with Classes/Registration • Enrichment Activities/Opportunities • Student Leadership

CAMP Eligibility Criteria • Must identify as: – Part of the Migrant Program any time K-12 or Migrant and/ or S easonal Farm worker (employed at least 75 days in farm work/ seasonal occupation, in the last 2 years) – U.S . Citizen or Permanent Resident • How to Apply? – Must complete application to CS UMB – Complete CAMP application packet

Educational Opportunity Program • S upport system that provides academic and retention services to historically low income and educationally underserved students. • Assists students who have the potential to perform satisfactorily in the CS U but have not been able to realize this potential because of economic or educational background. – S ervices: • Special Admission • Academic and Retentions Support • Tutoring • Enrichment Workshops • Summer Bridge/Transfer Bridge • Financial Assistance

EOP Eligibility Criteria • Must identify as : – Low income AND first generation college student. – Income guidelines are determined by the EOP income bracket. – If a parent or guardian has earned a four year degree, the student no longer qualifies as first generation. • How to Apply? – S tudents must first complete an application to the university on CS Uapply. The EOP application is now apart of the CS U application.

Guardian Scholars Program • The Guardian S cholars Program supports current and former foster youth who are in college by providing access, maintaining a support network that promotes student academic success, and connecting students with their potential to become successful and productive world citizens. – S ervices: • Peer Mentoring • Faculty & Staff Mentoring Program • Priority Registration • Skill Building Workshops • Cultural Activities • Financial Assistance

  23. Guardian Scholars Eligibility Criteria • Must be a current CS UMB student • Must identify as: – Former/ current foster youth and/ or ward of the state – Orphan, adopted, homeless or in kinship care/ guardianship care • How to Apply? – Complete the application online or in person.

TRIO SSS & TRIO SSS STEM-HS • The TRIO S S S programs support and empower first generation, low-income students and students with disabilities in their academic, personal, and professional growth. – S ervices: • Academic and Personal Counseling • Academic and Personal Development Workshops • Graduate and Professional School Exploration Activities • Cultural and Social Enrichment Activities • Peer Mentor Support • Financial Assistance

  25. TRIO Eligibility • Must be a CS UMB student • U.S . Citizen or Permanent Resident • Must be one or more of the following: – First generation – Low income – S tudent with a documented disability • How to Apply? – Complete online application for either S S S or S S S S TEM-HS • TRIO SSS STEM-HS acceptable majors: Biology, CHHS, Communication Design, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Marine Science, and Mathematics.

Undocu-Success • Empowers scholars who are undocumented in their educational pursuits and fosters a supportive campus community dedicated to achieving their educational and personal goals. • We address the needs of undocumented students, members of mixed-status families, allies, campus faculty and staff by providing the following services and resources: – Policy & Legislative Updates – Referrals to Counseling, Financial, and Academic Resources – Legal S ervice Referrals – Ally and Policy Trainings – S cholarship Assistance – Other S ervices • No Application Necessary
