40 active clubs with 4 new clubs: Career Achievement Association, Society Asian Scientist and Engineers (SASE), Skyline Student Roundtable, and Skyline Women Engineers (SWE) new this Fall
Team Building CCCSAA
September 20 th , 2013 ASSC members participated in leadership workshops and team building exercises to build strong connections with each other.
October 18 th – 20 th , 2013 The conference was held in Sacramento, California. CCCSAA gave us an opportunity to network with other community college students and develop our student leadership skills.
October 9 th , 2013 Latino Heritage Festival representing Latinos from Central and South America was celebrated with El Salvadorian food, Live music from the Latin Cuban Jazz Cartel, and a live performance by a Peruvian dance group. Students also enjoyed piñatas filled with traditional Latino candy, Loteria game, and information tables from our Latino clubs on campus
October 11 th, 2013 National Coming Out Day is to celebrate coming out and raising awareness to the LGBT community in light of Civil Rights Awareness. Students were encouraged to walk through a closet door and state who they were coming out as.
October 15 th , 2013 Jimmy Santiago Baca, a world renowned poet and winner of the American Book Award and Hispanic Heritage Award. Baca is well known for his screenplay Bound by Honor , also known as the film Blood in Blood Out.
Welcome Week BBQ Pizza Pancake Breakfast Donuts and Coffee Club Rush U.S. Constitution Day Making Strides (Against Brest Cancer)
August 9 th – 23 rd , 2013 Welcome Week is the first week of the Fall semester. Which included activities, freebies, and where students had opportunities to meet the Associated Students of Skyline College. ASSC hosted five events which included a Welcome booth, BBQ, Pancake Breakfast, Ice Cream Social, and Club Rush.
August 21 st , 2013 ASSC hosted a Club Rush to give students and clubs the opportunities to meet and recruit students. Clubs provided pamphlet's with information about their clubs. Students were given the chance to meet different clubs on campus all at one event.
September 17 th , 2013 Members of the ASSC made copies of the U.S. Constitution to hand out to students in honor of the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787. ASSC handed out voter registration forms to encourage students to vote.
October 16 th , 2013 ASSC raised awareness and money for the Making Strides campaign to find a cure for Breast Cancer. Wrist bands, stickers, pens, and information were handed out to students in light of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
