Logging into Bert BERT now uses the same style logon as the other SEIMS+ applications.
BERT Main Screen
Icons on Main Screen of BERT There are several icons on the main screen for BERT. These icons are shortcuts for the File , Tools , and Help . Save – Will allow the user to save custom county report. Save As – Gives the user the ability to save a report with a unique name so that the report may be ran on a regular basis. Delete – Allows the user to delete a report that was created at the county level. Run – Allows the requested report to collect data and then be prepared for Export. Clear – This option will clear any search criteria selected from the Criteria , Sort/Group and Export tabs. Help – Directs the user to the SEIMS Help Files.
Items available in the drop downs The user can select different items to run from the List Type drop down and the Existing Profiles drop down. List Type ‐ Voter Registration List, Voter History List, and Voter Statistics. Existing Profile ‐ Voter Registration List, Household Label, Individual Label, and Walking List. Voter List – The radio buttons are used to further narrow the results for the export file.
What are the List Details? The list details gives the user a visual display of what the Selected Criteria , Group/Sort and Export information is for any given request. In the example displayed here: The requested items are Active and Inactive voters, between the age of 18 and 25; Sorted by PCT then by Last Name. The Export file will contain: • Birth date • Gender • PCT • Name list by Last Name, First Name, Middle Name • Party • Race
What are the Tabs for? The Tabs located under the Voter List section allows the user to create/modify, Sort/Group, and Export criteria fields.
How to get data from BERT. BERT is used to create export files. The user may use the state profiles to collect the data or create a specific request using the drop downs and tabs on the main screen. The next six items will explain how to get some of the most commonly requested information from BERT. • Voter Registration List • Household Labels • Walking List • Voter History List • Voter Statistics List • Age List
Creating a Voter Registration List To create the state profile voter registration list: 1. The List Type should be Voter Registration List . 2. The Existing Profiles should be Voter Registration List . 3. On the main screen click the Run Button. 4. Click Browse to select the Save location. 5. Click Save .
Creating Household Labels To create the state profile Household Labels: 1. The List Type should be Voter Registration List . 2. The Existing Profiles should be Household Label . 3. On the main screen click the Run Button. 4. Click Browse to select the Save location. 5. Click Save .
Creating a Walking List To create the state profile Walking List: 1. The List Type should be Voter Registration List . 2. The Existing Profiles should be Walking List . 3. On the main screen click the Run Button. 4. Click Browse to select the Save location. 5. Click Save .
Creating a Voter History List To create the state profile Voter History List: 1. The List Type should be Voter History List . 2. The Existing Profiles should be Voter History List . 3. On the main screen click the Run Button. 4. Click Browse to select the Save location. 5. Click Save .
Creating a Voter Statistics List To create the state profile Voter Statistics List: 1. The List Type should be Voter Statistics List . 2. The Existing Profiles should be Voter Statistics List . 3. On the main screen click the Run Button. 4. Click Browse to select the Save location. 5. Click Save .
Creating an Voter Age List To create an Voter Age List: 1. The List Type should be Voter Registration List . 2. The Existing Profiles should be Voter Registration List . 3. Click the Criteria Tab , select Age Group from the Selection Field drop ‐ down. 4. Highlight an age group in the Available swap box and click the center arrow to move it into the Selected swap box. 5. On the main screen click the Run Button. 6. Click Browse to select the Save location. 7. Click Save .
Remember BERT only creates Export files. There are NO REPORTS in BERT.
