What the Change Means to You and Who Will Be Affected ● Tax dependents/ filers who apply and have someone who is not in their home,who is temporarily out of the home, or who is not a Colorado resident are required to add those individuals to the case ● Tax Information packet ● Tax dependents who pass away remain part of MBU until 1 of next year 2 exceptions • Victim of Domestic Violence • Homeless

Tax Dependents • Individuals who are applying for benefits and declare that they are a tax dependent must now include the tax filer on their case. • If they indicate on the application that they are a tax dependent, they will have to indicate whether the tax filer is on the application or not - this information will be entered into CBMS on several screens. • Screens Include: Individual Demographics (important for exceptions), Case Individual, Individual Attributes, Individual Residency, The Individual Tax Information, Income Summary • When the “yes” tax dependent not on application radio button is selected, the tax information packet will be generated. The tax packet is a change with this build as well and we will review the cover letter and the information packet in a few moments
