What do students study in Chinese? 学什 么? Year One ‘s Chinese is topic based. Students will learn to recognise and respond to words, phrases and simple sentences in spoken Chinese, identify and respond to features of written Chinese; use known words in Chinese to interact in everyday activities and demonstrate developing writing skills by recognising and tracing stroke orders, stroke directions and basic root words.
