Meygen • World’s first commercial tidal array, consisting of 4 x 1.5MW 3 bladed horizontal axis turbines • Sgurr have now been actively involved in the construction/delivery phase of the project since Sept 15 • Currently filling the clients roles of the Grid and Electrical Package Manager and the role of Engineer • MeyGen plan to continue to build-out the project’s Inner Sound lease site to its full 398MW capacity.
Wave Drive • Develop an advanced linear generator (LG) for wave energy convertor applications • Funding awarded by Wave Energy Scotland, working with 7 other partners, led by Trident Energy • Main challenge is design for manufacture of generic machine • SgurrEnergy is providing: • Project management • Third part review of design (mechanical and electrical) • Final reporting • Dissemination of findings
