Project 1 • Title : Large-scale events as drivers for sustainable development of transport • Participants : TUB (Lead), City, USP, Tongji, HKPoly, UAM • Contents : o Classification of cities, events and solutions o Historical perspective and best-practice identification o Development of new methodologies and practices o Testing through an appropriate case study o “Handbook” of recommendations • Planned actions : EC call FP7-SST-2013-RTD-1 (“Implementing innovative and green urban transport solutions in Europe and beyond”) 4
Project 2 • Title : System-optimal ITS strategies • Participants : SPSPU (Lead), City, USP, TUB • Contents : o Problem formulation of efficient system-optimal traffic control o Methods and models of multi-objective transport planning o Software development and simulation experiments o Real-world implementation in a pilot mega-city • Funding opportunity and plan : to be further investigated in the next meeting 5
Project 3 • Title : Integrated “Hinterland” transport • Participants : TUB (Lead), City, SPSPU • Contents : o Continuous flow of information in the logistics chain o Establishment of synergies between relevant stakeholders o Efficient multimodal connections o City logistics • Funding opportunity and plan : possibilities from private and public sectors to be investigated 6
Project 4 • Title : Sustainable and safe shared vehicle systems • Participants : City (Lead), TUB – USP, SPSPU • Contents : o User needs, behaviour and cooperation o Methods for planning and deployment o Safety implications and assessment of shared bikes systems o Integration/coordination with other modes o Environmental and economic impacts assessment • Funding opportunity and plan : “Intelligent Energy Europe” call (CIP-IEE-2012) for TUB and City; USP and SPSPU as “associates”, with funding to be investigated 7
