History Established the Princeton Sports Book Club ● Discussion based book club that is geared towards boys/fathers to discuss books, ○ connect with authors, and play sports Dedicated membership of 15+ fathers and their sons ● Past meetings have been at gyms (e.g. Retro Fitness Kingston ) ○ Initial books included: Nowhere Boy , Sluggers: Magic in the Outfield , and Checked. All ● meetups used the "Harkness Method" to structure educational discussions regarding important themes within the novel.

  5. Value Proposition Developed an innovative educational and mentorship program for youth of central NJ region that ● will make an impact one boy/one family at a time. Established partnerships with leading national organizations/institutions and subject matter ● experts in the non-profit/education sector that use proven tools, strategies and a research based approach to redefining mentorship amongst young boys/fathers. We have recognized the need for boys to be thoughtfully prepared for the new world of knowledge ● based, globalized economies and expanding gender equality. Know how to effectively communicate and coordinate events with scholar athletes and authors ●

Live Authors/Scholar Athletes Held a live author event with Katherine Marsh, author of Nowhere Boy, on December 2nd, 2018 ● Fathers and their sons had the opportunity to virtually meet the author. ○ Discussed themes and answered questions, as well as provided the backstory of why she wrote the book. ○ Held Live Scholar Athlete Events ● All American High School Scholar Athletes ○ Setting Up Video Call Sessions with: ● Cynthia Kadohata-Author of Checked ○ Matthew Olosunde- Former Manchester United U-23 Player/Univ of Oxford ○ Abigi Id-Deen-UNC Track and Field Coach ○

Sample Funding/Sponsorships Sponsors ● ○ Jazams ■ Local Independent Bookstore agreed to provide discounts for PSBC members. ■ New Jersey Youth Soccer Association ■ Agreed to provide discounted tickets for professional soccer games. ○ RetroFitness (Kingston) ■ Local gym agreed to provide access to the facility for trainer sessions and book club discussions. ○ FreshStyle Barbershop ■ Local barbershop agreed to provide discounts to PSBC members. Grants ● Generous initial seed grants from local corporate ○ philanthropy programs (e.g Green Medical Network Group )

Vision Development of PSBC as a “proof of concept” that can serve ● as a leading non-profit organization dedicated to fatherhood/boyhood in New Jersey (within 18 months) and the USA (within 36 months) with eventual establishment of umbrella organization SportsBookClub.org Establishment of virtual presence with launch of ● “ JrSparkNotes ” to help boys/fathers quickly comprehend important points from the monthly reading list. Combining the best of boyhood/fatherhood to promote family ● literacy and impacting one child/family at a time.
