What’s it good for in AuditorNation? • See what leaders in the industry are saying (follow ACUA’s accounts) • Build your “brand” (go to Twitter, see how follows ACUA, follow them, they follow you, now you’re a big shot) • Get industry news (search “university auditors” on Facebook
What’s everybody else doing? ACUA 4
How do I get started? 1. Look around, anyone can browse 2. Consider a Twitter feed, follow your university accounts and the ACUA followers. Post and Retweet. 3. Do nothing and ignore it all. You and the world will survive. 6
I don’t want to get in trouble • Think before you post, whether on personal accounts or professional. • Set up a professional account with your title and affiliation. Keep the personal stuff to personal accounts. Don’t get confused. • It’s all permanent, even after you die . 7
Suggestions to ponder • Find out who is in charge of social media at your university. Let them know when you have news. • Start a CUAV Facebook page that is closed to outsiders. Talk amongst yourselves. Or start a public page. • Encourage ACUA to be more active. 8
