What Your Student Will Do! Student “10 minute” Meeting • All seniors will meet with Mrs. Burck & Mrs. Steinkamp regarding senior year • Review Transcript and Diploma Type • Future Plan & Goals for the Year • Counselors take notes over the “10 minute” meeting and will use these as a reference tool throughout their senior year. 4
Plan for Student Success Progression Of Senior Year • Discuss your student’s plan NOW for after they walk across the graduation stage - College, Military, Work-Force • College/University - College Visits (4) - (Pre-Arrange w/ Mrs. Giesting) - Applications - Deadlines begin Nov. 1 * Watch deadlines, early decision vs early action, - Transcript Requests: www.parchment.com - At-Risk Letters
Plan for Student Success -Recommendation Letters: *Teachers, coaches, employers – Give at least two weeks notice * Provide recommender with “resume” if necessary - SAT / ACT Testing @ BHS SAT: 8/24, 10/5, 12/7, 3/14 & 5/2 ACT: 9/14, 10/26 , & 4/4 - NCAA (Check website under Guidance Tab) - Scholarships / School Based and Local
