SparQ Policies Members must clean up after themselves before leaving the space. • Members must be trained before using any equipment. • Always wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). • Performing modifications such as cutting, drilling or sanding on carbon fibre is prohibited. • Notify the makerspace director before bringing large material into the space. • Request permission of the makerspace director before bringing chemicals into the space. • No food or drink allowed in the space. • No animals allowed in the space. • No working unsupervised. • Supervisors can revoke memberships at any time if a member is being unsafe or uncooperative.
3D Print Specific Policies • Makerbot Replicator, Flashforge Dreamer, and Wanhao Duplicator open first come, first served • The Ultimaker printers require attending the 3D print workshop • Prints over 10+ hours, please bring in your own filament • Only 2.85mm filament on Ultimakers. • Only 1.75mm filament on others.

Evacuation • Exit through only door out of SparQ. • Exit to street through main South Union Street exit. • Alternate route to the left down “Innovation Way Hallway” through East exit. • Do not use any elevators in case of emergency.
Fire • Close door to SparQ. • Pull fire alarm located near South Union Street exit. • Fire extinguishers located near door. • Small one used for solid, liquid, and electrical fires. • Large one used for electrical fire only. DO NOT ATTEMPT to extinguish if the fire is out of control.
Injury • Major: • Call 613 613-533 533-6111 • Stay on the line, tell them as much as you can • You are in SparQ Studios, RM 101on the first floor of Mitchell Hall • Don’t move a seriously injured person unless you have to • Minor: • If non-emergency call 613 613-533 533-6733 • Provide first aid if qualified and appropriate

Unsafe Conditions • Notify the director or a supervisor if you see ANY unsafe conditions. • This includes: • Messy workstation • Hostile/aggressive behaviour • Neglecting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) • We would rather you ask if something is safe first rather than just going with it
