Future Direction for Reaching Communities Same mission – what has to change to make things better? • Based on consultation • Fewer forms and more conversations • • We want to support projects that matter (not focus on what is the matter!) • Projects that local people are involved in - we call this approach ‘ People in the Lead ’ Also – less complex and more flexible funding. •
New ways of working – Starting the conversation … Tell us about your project idea: • Describe what you want to do and why you want this project - what difference you think it will make? • Tell us who and how many people will benefit from this project? • How will you involve people / communities with your project? • Tell us about your organisation. • Tell us the length of your project, your project budget and how much you will require from us?
Hints and tips We are happy to talk to you about potential projects at an early stage – contact your local funding officer or email the Big Advice Line . Although things are a bit different for Y&H projects – the basics still apply: Keep your answers simple, clear, specific and consistent. • Act on any feedback we have given you. • • Remember to budget for everything i.e. inflation, auditors, evaluation costs, full cost recovery. Don’t rush – plan carefully. It might take longer than you • think to set up your project. Proof read your application - or ask someone else to read • it; talk through what you’ve written.
