Ministry Connections Update – November 2017 Outstanding as of Nov 11 h Served already in 2017 Delivery teams, warehouse support, and 500 volunteers from 27 churches Over 7,180 hours served office support folks needed Over 11,500 Help Center calls received 128 awaiting intake conversation 349 intake conversations the start of plugging into our ministries 319 beds 183 beds 237 dressers 199 dressers 16 mini-baby showers 8 mini-baby showers 185 Household Starter Kits 48 Household Starter Kits 32 home projects 33 home projects (includes flood assistance) 118 families general clothing 50 families general clothing & winter coats 5 connections to a church 38 awaiting connections to a church & countless prayers prayed! & countless prayers needed!
Our Churches in Action • Joy! Lutheran Bunk Bed Build Men’s group built 29 sets of bunk beds • • Delivered 16 beds, including linens • Immanuel- Chain Of Lake Bible Men’s Group Dressers Team built 20 dressers from template used in African missions – • no wasted material! • First Presbyterian Winter Clothing Distribution • 9 different churches shared 175 coats with our neighbors • New Song Ministries Kids Closet • Served 18 families since opening in August 2017
Our Churches in Action • Raising Financial Support • Dinner & Auction • Board & staff members and volunteers from five different churches on planning team • GREAT turnout, many new elements (more live auction items, Fund-A- Need auction, e-bidding) • Grossed $70K! • Potbelly Community Night • Led by volunteer from St. Paul the Apostle, netted (tbd) • Loved Twice Thrift Boutique • Volunteers from 10 different churches serve our community • Generated $23K for Love INC ministries since April 1

Love INC is… • the Body of Christ working together • a strategy to help neighbors in need • a tool to screen and verify requests • a cooperative effort between churches and community agencies to provide effective help for disadvantaged • a shared ministry of partner churches • a vehicle that helps churches fulfill their biblical mandate to serve “the least of these”
Ministry Opportunities & Needs
Organizational Changes • Transformational Ministry (change) • Marcia completed her 1 year grant through Encore/Intel in July • Spark, Jacqui, & Pat Schwartz will lead through transition • Neighbor Care Coordinator (new) • Created to better support building deeper relationships between churches & neighbors Fits Jacqui’s talents perfectly! • • Clearinghouse Coordinator (interim status/hiring in process) • Responsible for the initial understanding & verifying the needs of our neighbors and getting them connected into basic resources • Help us find our next new staff member! • Gap Ministry Coordinator (now hiring) • Mike Stanczak accepted a fellowship position at Trinity Community, Libertyville, beginning Jan 1 • Help us find our next new staff member!

Ministry Challenges “The harvest is plenty, but the workers are few…” • • Donations from the community pile up • Resources are delayed in getting to those who need them • Phone messages from neighbors in need go unreturned for two days • Those in need consider us just another agency that doesn’t care Our ask of you…connect us! • • Help us get on the calendars of your pastor, ministry board, small group leaders, etc. • Spark & board members are ready to connect and support your church in serving our neighbors in Lake County
