The Engaging Communities Voluntary Organisations Forum (VOF) aims to: Support for groups that engage in community work Particularly community groups, BME and micro organisations Move towards more practical and peer to peer support through networking Our Community, Our heritage… To develop a better understanding on what the needs of the community are and how the museums and cultural institutes can cater for them To remove barriers and make services offered by the institutes more accessible To strengthen relationship between the institutes and VCS to take a collective approach to community engagement
Corporate Services Small Grants Fund • Setup to assist local community organisations with their activities • To benefit residents of the Royal Borough • Voluntary and community organisations with charitable objectives • Two tranches of the Corporate Services Small Grants Fund. • This year a total of £14,000 has been made available (£7,000 each round) • The first round has just taken place and has been allocated • The second round will be allocated in October 2013. The grants have been allocated as follows: • Action Disability Kensington & Chelsea [£500] • Advice Support & Development Ltd [£1,489] • Al- Hasaniya Moroccan Women’s Centre [£711] • Centre for Armenian Information & Advice (CAIA) [£908] •Karima’s Cuisina [£392] • Latymer Christian Fellowship Trust [£1,000] • Response Community Projects [£1,000] •Women’s Association for African Networking and Development UK [£1,000]
o Each ward is allocated £20,000 (per year) o The three ward Councilors allocate these funds towards community projects o Applications come through a simple budget approval form o Issues are identified through surveys and engagement o Projects must help to address these local issues •Campden Ward Isolated Older People’s Project • Life Coaching and Training in St Charles and Golborne Wards •iAm: The ‘Hanging Around’ Tour – A Drama Project for Younger People • Portobello Land Community Website
