Titration Basics • Titration: • Technique that is based upon the addition of a reagent (titrant) that reacts with the sample species • As reagent is added, the changes in electrode potential are recorded • The sample concentration is calculated from the volume of reagent that is chemically equivalent to the sample species • Automated Titrator: • The device used to perform the titration, titrant standardization or direct measurement 2
