School Schedules – CTE WEMOCO • Schedule designed to maximize in-person, hands-on lab learning • In-person days will focus on lab activities • Remote days will focus on theory activities • Working with high schools on aligning student schedules • Work-based learning, New Visions, and community-based activities will be done as much as possible dependent on the community partner and BOCES confidence that health & safety is assured
School Schedules – Exceptional Children • Students in all programs will attend 4 days/week (M, Tu, Th, F) • Wednesday will be Remote Learning • Aligned to most districts schedule • Students will have normal schedule • Work-based learning and community-based activities will be done as much as possible dependent on the community partner and BOCES confidence that health & safety is assured
School Schedules – Westside Academy • Students will attend 5 days/week • Class schedule modified to reduce number of transitions during the day
Remote Learning • In a remote or hybrid learning model, all BOCES 2 students will have daily contact and interaction with a certified classroom teacher to support their academic development and social emotional needs • Student attendance will be taken each day. Students are expected to participate in all learning activities • Students will have structured school day that follows a predictable schedule • Instructional time is not defined solely as a student’s time spent in front of a teacher on Zoom. It includes time engaged in standards-based learning under the guidance and direction of a certified teacher. • Students will participate in a variety of instructional experiences designed to keep them engaged in their learning and achieve the learning standards for their program or course of study.

Technology • BOCES 2 is working with families to determine the level of access to devices and internet students have in their places of residence • All students will have devices • Technology resources and training will be available to students and parents via the BOCES 2 website • BOCES 2 technology staff will provide technology support for teachers, students and parents
Transportation • Home districts will provide transportation to all BOCES programs including days the student doesn’t attend home school classes • Districts have established health and safety standards for students on buses which our students will follow. Face coverings are required on buses at all times • Student arrival and departures will be staggered by BOCES staff to reduce the number of students moving through the halls • Parents are welcome to transport their student to BOCES programs • WEMOCO will expand the number of student parking spots to accommodate more drivers who don’t wish to take the bus
Health and Safety: Social Distancing & Face Coverings • There will be at least 6 ft. of social distance between students in all classrooms • Students may wear their own face coverings but BOCES will provide them if needed • If social distance cannot be maintained, face coverings are required except for medical exemptions • Students will wear face coverings during all transitions in common areas. Transitions will be managed to reduce the number of students in hallways and other common areas • Students can take face coverings off while eating and during instruction if social distancing is maintained
Health and Safety: Signage
Health and Safety: Testing and Contact Tracing • BOCES will not conduct COVID-19 testing • Students will go to their health care provider who will consult with the county health department to determine if testing is recommended and testing will be done at a state-approved location • All positive tests will be reported to the health department who will notify parents/guardians before notifying BOCES • Contact Tracing investigations are conducted by the health department and BOCES will fully cooperate in any way possible • Health department will determine who will be quarantined or isolated and when they may return to school
Health and Safety: Cleaning and Disinfecting • All classrooms and common areas will be deep cleaned and disinfected with OSHA-approved products everyday • High Touch Areas (door handles, bathrooms, desktops) will be cleaned frequently throughout the day • Detailed record logs of when a room was cleaned, who did the cleaning, and what was cleaned will be kept daily • Disinfectant spray, wipes, and hand sanitizer will be available in every classroom and office
