Engineering Activity! Students who physically experience scientific concepts understand them more deeply, are able to apply the concepts to the real work, and score better on science tests (University of Chicago) . 6
New Approach NGSS Approach: Students deepen their knowledge of science through the science and engineering practices. Old Approach: Students learn about science and the scientific method. Students construct an argument to support the claim that changes to an ecosystem affect populations of organisms. 7
