What Causes Day and Night • The sun causes day and night as the earth rotates around the sun. The sun 's rays hit different parts of the earth causing day and night.
WHAT IS THE SUN • The sun is a burning ball of gas. The sun is also a medium sized star that is bigger than earth,you could fit more than one hundred earths inside it
HOW DOES THE SUN MOVE • The sun moves in an orbit on its axis. For the sun to orbit all the way around it takes 24 hours. The sun does NOT orbit, but it does rotate.
HOW DOES THE EARTH MOVE • You'd think that the sun orbits around the earth but it doesn't. The earth orbits around the sun. Earth rotates while it's orbiting. Now that you know the truth go share it.
WHAT CAUSES THE SEASONS • Seasons happen while the earth orbits around the sun. As it orbits it rotates. When part of the earth is closest to the sun it's summer, and the other side is winter
WHAT CAUSES THE LENGTH Of OUR DAYS AND YEARS • For the earth to rotate all the way around on its axis it takes 24 hours (a day). For earth to orbit all the way around the sun it takes 365 (a year).
HOW DOES THE MOON MOVE • The moon has the same rotation as the earth except it orbits around earth.
WHAT CAUSES THE PHASES OF THE MOON • The phases of the moon are always changing. Phases of the moon are caused as it rotates around earth. The sun hits parts of the moon causing phases.
My favorite part was learning about the Phases of the moon.
