Title I Updates • There will be no 2 nd allocation for Title I for the 2016-2017 school year. • Although the commitment item# for Telephone Expense also includes Postage, postage is not an allowable expenditure with Title I funds. (Page A-40 of the Program and Budget Handbook). Furthermore, on the Budget at a Glance, Telephone Expenses are the only words listed on the Indirect Services page.
Title I Updates • Board of Education voted to extend health benefits to Teacher Assistants and playground aides who are represented by Service Employees International Union-Local 99. • Unit F: Teacher Assistants who work 800 hours or more in a year in any one assignment in the previous school year will receive individual health care benefits fully paid by the District, including vision and dental benefits. • Unit G: After School Program Workers, Community Representatives and School Supervision Aides will be included in the District’s health care plan. The District will pay half of the cost of benefits for workers who work 1,000 hours or more in a year in any one assignment in the previous school year.
Shopping Carts BUL-6517.1 Additional Approver
Title I Shopping Cart Orders • Local District South Title I Coordinators are the Additional Approvers of all school site Title I shopping carts
Procedures for all Title I Shopping Cart Orders • Review SPSA to determine if the expenditure is specifically described. If not, a SPSA Modification must be completed to justify the expenditures • Enter items in the Shopping Cart along with the required attachments (see Title I Cheat Sheet) • Principal will approve the requisition in the Shopping Cart and it will be sent to the LD South Title I Coordinator for additional approval • The LD South Title I Coordinator will review the attached SPSA/SPSA Modification along with the other required attachments and verify that all documents match and that the expenditure is allowable under Title I guidelines
Procedures for all Title I Shopping Cart Orders • If the order can be processed, the LD South Title I Coordinator will approve the Shopping Cart • If the order is not approved, the LD South Title I Coordinator will reject the Shopping Cart and notify the school of the reason and the steps needed to receive approval
Shopping Cart Required Attachments Starting the 2016-2017 school year, the following object /commitment items will require a additional approver before the order will be processed. The additional approver will be your LD Title I Coordinator or Central Title I Approver depending on whether the school enters the Shopping Cart or the Shopping Cart Unit enters the order.
2017-2018 On-line SPSA Preparation for the Online 2017-2018 SPSA All schools will complete their SPSA on-line for 2017-2018 SPSA Evaluation of the 2016-2017 SPSA will still be required for the 2017-2018 SPSA District Training Materials to be Released by FSEP in late November LD South Trainings - TBD Due Dates and Timeline – TBD
