  1. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout This presentation was developed by the Mid-South District LWML Assembly of Leaders roll-out team. It is intended to be facilitated by someone from your LWML group and there is an event completion form to be submitted at the completion of the program. 1

  2. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Every 2 or 3 years LWML has a gathering for new leaders where MUCH information is exchanged. It’s a chance to hear from inspirational speakers and to meet LWML leaders. Young women are especially encouraged to attend. This year, for the first time, junior pastoral counselors were invited to attend. 2

  3. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Representatives from each district were challenged to develop a plan for sharing the information from the Assembly of Leaders with those in their districts. The Mid-South District representatives who attended the Assembly of Leaders liked the idea of increasing the level of inspiration and excitement in LWML, in the hope that would lead to more participation which ultimately would lead to more people sharing the Gospel message. In other words … we want to get the WORD out! 3

  4. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout You may already know something about the Assembly of Leaders if you attended one of the district retreats or have already attended a zone rally or board meeting. However, each presentation contains different “tidbits” of information. 4

  5. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout We realize that, in order to reach the goal of 75% of our membership being engaged in this process, we will need to reach out to local groups with some information. Our intent to make it as simple as possible – by furnishing a link to an automated slide show that can be watched at a regularly scheduled LWML meetings. 5

  6. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout In this short presentation we’ll review several resources that are available on the LWML website. 6

  7. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout We’ll begin with Mission Grant Resources. You may already know that for the 2019-2021 biennium there were 21 mission grants selected which will be funded by the $2,100,000 mission goal. But, we’ll look at how you can share information about these grants in your congregation and community. 7

  8. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout It’s easy to navigate to the mission grant resources starting with www.lwml.org. From the main screen you click on “MISSIONS” and then on “Mission Grants” in the resulting drop-down. 8

  9. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout In addition to the resources available for sharing, you can view the mission grants video highlighting the grant recipients for the current biennium. To see the set of resources for each mission grant, click on the link on the right side of the screen as shown in the slide. 9

  10. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout The description of monthly resources shows that there are posters, prayer guides, stories about the grant recipient, and text that can be included in your service bulletin. The link at the top of the page will bring you to the set of resources for the currently featured grant. 10

  11. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout All of these resources can be used to share and promote missions in your congregation and community. You may wish to pick one Sunday out of each month to promote the mission grant of the month. It’s a great way to share the excitement about how our “mighty mites” are being used to spread the Gospel message! 11

  12. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Next we’ll take a look at the huge variety of Christian Life resources available. 12

  13. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout There are LWML Christian Life resources available for every possible type of gathering or situation. You need never start from scratch when planning a meeting or event! From the main LWML menu click on “THE WORD” and then select “Program Helps”. 13

  14. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout At the top of the Program Helps page you’ll see the resources selected for use at a monthly meeting. But, if you scroll down, you’ll find resources that can be used in all sorts of situations such as retreats or Christian life workshops. 14

  15. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout The suggested monthly resources are all taken from the two-year planner. This invaluable resource has TWO YEARS’ worth of material! AND, it’s available for download FREE!!! 15

  16. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Moving on to Leadership Resources, we’ll see how there are plenty of resources to help you be a better leader. There are ideas for staying organized, communicating effectively, mentoring others, and recruiting volunteers. 16

  17. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Get started by clicking on “SERVICE” from the main LWML menu and then click on “Leadership Development” in the drop down menu. 17

  18. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout After reviewing the Leadership Development purpose statement, scroll down… …to see featured resources followed by options to get to all the other leadership resources. Be sure to take some time to review this at your earliest convenience! 18

  19. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout The last (but not least!) set of resources applies to Gospel Outreach. 19

  20. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout To find Gospel Outreach resources, click on “MISSIONS” from the main LWML page and then select “Gospel Outreach”. 20

  21. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Gospel Outreach resources are divided into two parts. On the left you’ll find those related to “Sharing God’s Word”. On the right you’ll see those related to “Demonstrating Jesus’ Love”. In other words – it’s the TELLING and the DOING. We’ll highlight just a few of these options in the following slides. 21

  22. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Starting with “I Love to Tell the Story” on the left you can read short stories about how women just like you have shared about situations where God put someone in their path who needed to hear the Gospel message. You can be encouraged by knowing that God will provide you with the words to share as long as you are open to the Holy Spirit’s leading! 22

  23. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout On the right-hand side, take a look at the Mission Service Activity of the Month. Each month a different topic is covered and will provide an overview of the need, resources for addressing the need, and ideas for how you and/or your local group and congregation can take action to satisfy the need. 23

  24. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Also on the left side of the main screen is a direct link to the archive of Mission Service Activities. This gives you the opportunity to look at topics previously covered – over 2 years’ worth! 24

  25. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Another link under “Demonstrating Jesus’ Love” is “Jesus’ Love in Action Through the Year”. This is a handy year-at- a-glance calendar that gives you different ideas for ways to reach out each month. The ideas include ways to nurture your own faith as well as to put that faith in action. 25

  26. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Another set of resources under “Demonstrating Jesus’ Love” relates to the “Gifts from the Heart” toolkits. These are ideas for kits that can be assembled and distributed to either individuals or groups such as the homeless or members of the military. These kits provide wonderful opportunities to not only reach out to your community but also to get the entire congregation involved in collecting items and assembling the kits! 26

  27. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Next we’ll spend just a few minutes on tools and social media outlets. These tools and social media outlets provide great vehicles for sharing information about LWML resources and events. And, they’re not just for sharing with other LWML members – many allow you to share devotions or inspirational resources with family and friends! 27

  28. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout First let’s review the social media platforms where LWML has a presence. You can begin by clicking on “FELLOWSHIP” from the main LWML page. Then select “Social Media” from the drop-down menu. 28

  29. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Social media outlets include Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and Instagram. If you use any of these be sure to get connected into the LWML! 29

  30. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout You can also find the social media links at the bottom of the main menu pages. In addition, you can find a link to the LWML email list. 30

  31. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout It’s wonderful to get a daily Mustard Seed Devotion in your email. Plus you can sign up for e-news, LWML store promotions and much more! 31

  32. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Another way to stay up to date even when you’re not at your computer is to download the LWML App on your phone. This provides access to all the tools and resources you can get on the website – even when you’re on the go. 32

  33. Mid-South District LWML 2019 AOL Rollout Our final topic applies to the videos and resources available from the Assembly of Leaders meeting. 33
