KMS to NYC 2018! Keene Middle School March 24, 2018
A Brief Overview ● Cost: approximately $235/student. Number of participants may slightly raise or lower total cost. ● Refunds are not guaranteed. See “Tour Terms and Conditions” for more information. ● Time Frame: 4:30 am departure from KMS, ~ 9:00pm return to KMS ● Who: 7th grade band, chorus, and strings students ● Rough Itinerary: ○ 4:30 am departure from KMS (bring breakfast / snacks to eat on the bus!) ○ 9am-12pm Guided tour of Manhattan ○ 12pm Lunch at Hard Rock Cafe New York ○ 2pm Matinee Performance ( Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! ) ○ 5pm departure from NYC, 9:00pm approximate arrival back at KMS (bring dinner / snacks to eat on the bus!)
What kind of Bus are we riding on? We will be riding on a charter bus! Movies to be selected by KMS staff and administration. How will groups and seating be arranged on the buses? F.A.Q. Students will be in groups of 10, each assigned a chaperone. Students will list 3 who they would be willing to be paired up Frequently Asked Questions with. Who will be chaperoning? KMS staff and administration will chaperone this trip. Thank you to those of you who have already expressed an interest!
Can my child bring Cell Phones and other tech on the trip? Cell phones and other tech with wireless capabilities will not be part of this experience. Miss Young will be posting F.A.Q. online updates throughout the day of the trip so that parents can stay informed. Frequently Asked Questions Should my child bring spending money? Students will have opportunities to buy souvenirs in the city and at the show. Students should pack extra food and snacks for the ride home.
Safety NYC is a big, bustling metropolis! While there is great joy in exploring the city on foot, your child’s safety is absolutely crucial to us, as well as to the success of this trip. Every student going on the trip will: ● demonstrate wise travel etiquette F.A.Q. ● stay with their buddy and their chaperone group all day ● wear a ‘uniform’ long-sleeved tee Frequently Asked Questions ● wear a lanyard with emergency contact information Every chaperone going on the trip will: ● have a cell phone with them ● wear a ‘uniform’ long-sleeved tee ● be within earshot of your child at all times
