What is the Husky Early College Academy at Matawan Regional High School ? ➔ The Husky Early College Academy at Matawan Regional High School (HECA@MRHS) is intended to give academically prepared students the opportunity to earn an Associate of Arts, Social Science degree from Brookdale Community College while also achieving their high school diploma. ➔ The HECA@MRHS is structured as a four year cohort allowing enrolled students to satisfy high school graduation requirements and Brookdale’s college-level courses in fulfillment of the Associate degree requirements.

Objective: ➔ Provide rigorous and engaging instruction ➔ Create new inclusive pathways to college degree attainment ➔ Facilitate timely progression through the curriculum ➔ Provide for concurrent high school and community college graduation Additional Benefits: ➔ Matawan Regional High School is 1 of a few high schools partnered with BCC that offer an Early College Academy. ➔ Early exposure to college level content. ➔ Brookdale Community College Student Life Activities ➔ Students in the HECA@MRHS program are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities ➔ Most state colleges and universities in New Jersey accept all 64 college credits ➔ Student resources and support from both MRHS and Brookdale available for all HECA@MRHS students
