An Educational Partnership between the Keyport School District and Brookdale Community College MISSION STATEMENT Provide academically prepared 9 th grade students an opportunity to concurrently earn an Associate of Arts degree in Social Sciences while also achieving their high school diploma
HOW WILL STUDENTS BE SELECTED? • 2017-2018 Rising Stars Early College Academy Candidates • Potential Rising Stars Early College Academy students will be identified from the 8 th grade class at Keyport Central School and Union Beach Memorial School and will complete an application and interview process for 10 available Rising Stars Early College Academy seats
WHEN WILL STUDENTS TAKE COLLEGE CLASSES? • Rising Stars Early College Academy students will begin taking college classes during regular school hours in the fall of their freshman year. • Rising Stars Early College Academy graduates will earn 61 college credits through Brookdale Community College while fulfilling high school graduation requirements at KHS.

Student Obligations • Must maintain a 3.0 GPA • If student fails class they are responsible for paying remediation • Students who fail two courses without remediation will be removed from the academy but maintain the attained credits.
Criteria • Application • **Sages 2 test (Linkit)** • Lexile • Algebra 1 grades (first 2 marking periods) • 8th grade ELA (first 2 marking periods) • Math PARCC 7 • ELA PARCC 7 **to be included with the class of 2022
