Husky Early College Academy At Matawan Regional High School A Partnership With Brookdale Community College
District Curriculum Goal ➔ Objective: Research and plan the implementation of an Early College High School program to begin in the 2018-2019 school year. This program is designed to provide students the opportunity to receive a high school diploma and an associate degree, by taking a mixture of high school and college classes in partnership with Brookdale.
What is the Husky Early College Academy at Matawan Regional High School ? ➔ The Husky Early College Academy at Matawan Regional High School (HECA@MRHS) is intended to give academically prepared students the opportunity to earn an Associate of Social Science degree from Brookdale Community College while also achieving their high school diploma. ➔ The HECA@MRHS is structured as a four year cohort allowing enrolled students to satisfy high school graduation requirements and Brookdale’s college-level courses in fulfillment of the Associate degree requirements.

HECA@MRHS Estimated Cost of Tuition & Fees 9th Grade: Tuition: 9 credits - $414 $46.00 per credit, if taught by MRHS teacher 10th Grade: 9 credits - $414 $68.00 per credit, if taught by BCC teacher 11th Grade: 22 credits (9 credits at MRHS) - $2,208 $138.00 per credit, if taken at BCC 12th Grade: 24 credits - $3,312 Total estimated cost of tuition (not including books): $6,348

2018-2019 Timeline Jan. - MARSD BOE Approves/Supports moving forward with plan ➔ March 8 - Parent and student information night ➔ April 10 - Application deadline due to Ms. Feen at Matawan Aberdeen Middle School ➔ April/May - HECA@MRHS Selection Committee meets with students and parents for brief ➔ conversation (interview) May - Cohort #1 student names sent to BCC ➔ Aug. - Summer Success Program ➔ September- Official Husky Early College coursework begins! ➔
