High School Boundary Committee Committee Recommendation Option 4 6
Fairfield Suisun Unified School District High School Boundary Committee Option 4 Boundary Recommendation Rationale Recommended • Keeps community areas together • New attendance boundaries follow clean geographical lines • Maintains stability of community area surrounding Bransford/Sullivan (creates the least impact/disruption for this area) • Creates a unified Suisun City community feeding into the closest high school (Armijo) • Improvement over current boundaries relative to feeder patterns • Easier for educators to collaborate on curriculum • Smallest peak variance of distribution between the number of students in comparison to the number of classrooms at each high school site • Increases Fairfield High School student population relative to its capacity, which will allow the school to expand curriculum offerings • Allows for room at Rodriguez High School and Fairfield High School to accommodate future development growth • School routes are more accessible to families whether taking public transportation, walking or driving • Average distance is the lowest of all boundary options considered • Sheldon Elementary attendance area has better access, within walking distance to the high school (Armijo)
