Canton Township Moreland Allotment Sanitary Sewer Installation ❖ CDBG funding was utilized to help construct the sanitary sewer system in the Moreland Hills Allotment located in Canton Twp. ❖ 169 residential sanitary sewer systems were failing ❖ Installation of a 16,100 linear feet of sanitary sewer lines/piping, 41 manholes, and a sanitary lift station ❖ CDBG funding expended in FY ’19 was $109,708.70, as $313,096.30 was spent during FY ‘18. CDBG Funded Housing Rehab Programs ❖ Non-Emergency Full Housing Rehabilitation Program • Offers a 50% deferred loan/50% grant (up to $25,000 total) to assist properties in need of repair. ❖ Emergency Grant Program • Provides assistance if there is a serious threat to the health and safety of the occupants or an urgent repair has become necessary within the last 3 months upwards of $12,000. Any projects over $9,000, a zero percent (0%) deferred loan will be given on the remainder amount. ❖ Handicap Accessibility Grant Program • Provides assistance in removing and/or altering architectural barriers to improve accessibility for qualified applicants with a permanent physical disability(s) as a 100% grant not to exceed $20,000. ❖ Sanitary Sewer Connection/Septic Improvement Deferred Loan Program • Assists qualified applicants in connecting to the Stark County Sanitary Sewer System (where available) and provides repairs/replacements of septic systems where sanitary sewer does not exist

HOME Funded Housing Rehab Program ❖ Full Housing Rehabilitation Program • Offers a 50% deferred loan/50% grant (up to $25,000 total) to bring properties up to Uniform Physical Conditions Standards (UPSC), current RPC adopted Residential Rehab Standards (RRS) and Uniform Property Standards adopted by HUD and be done in conformance with the SCRPC technical specifications book which details the materials to be used and the methods for construction work

Arbor Ridge: HOME Funded PSH Update - ICAN Housing, Inc. ❖ Located at 3003 Kasper St. NE, Canton, OH ❖ Total Project Cost: $2,470,000.00 ❖ Newly constructed permanent supportive housing development consists of 14 one-bedroom rental apartments in a one story building for formerly homeless adults living with mental illness (LMI). ❖ $261,505.00 Stark County HOME funds expended on this project ❖ In 10/19, construction was completed and building was 100% occupied.

  21. ICAN, Inc. – Rehab of Navarre Rd. PSH Duplex Project ❖ Duplex located on Navarre Rd. in Perry Township ❖ Project Cost: $71,275.00 ❖ Substantial rehabilitation of an ICAN-owned permanent support housing duplex. ❖ Rehab included: Installation of new vinyl siding, windows, entry doors, furnace, water heater, floor coverings, bathroom updates, and new kitchen cabinets. ❖ Project fully completed and 100% occupied in May 2020. Project carries a 15-year affordability period.

ICAN, Inc. – Rehab of Mississippi/Pershing Duplex Project ❖ Duplex located at Mississippi St./Pershing Ave. in the City of North Canton ❖ Project Cost: $71,060.00 ❖ Substantial rehabilitation of an ICAN-owned permanent support housing duplex. ❖ Rehab will include: Installation of a new roof, new concrete walkways, entry doors, furnace, water heater, floor coverings, bathroom updates, and new kitchen countertops. ❖ A total of $11,010.00 was expended by the end of FY ‘19. ❖ The project is expected to be 100% completed in July 2020 and will carry a 15-year affordability period.
