  16. Good Practice presentation II. Innovative aspects The Cultural Route of the Fortified Churches is along four counties in South Transylvania – Sibiu, Brasov, Mures and Alba. 17. Good Practice presentation II. Innovative aspects The project was innitiatied by Mioritics with the support of UNESCO Venice Office under the “Cultural Heritage - a bridge towards a shared future” program in South -East Europe (10 countries/partners participating). Mioritics is the only NGO involved in this program (all the others are Ministries of Culture) and the project was presented several times like best practice during the UNESCO Ministerial Conferences or UNESCO Experts Meetings. Even the project was innitiated and managed by an NGO, the activities became self sustainable after one year since the beginning and all the new funds (grants, sponsorships) are used for development of new activities.
