  5. From Island Lakes Must walk 900 metres from traffic circle. Approx. 20 minutes.

  6. From Island Lakes Must walk 650 metres from Bishop Grandin & Shorehill Approx. 17 minutes.

  7. TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS From  Walking Royalwood  3.2 km  approximately 40 minutes  Cycling  4.2 km via designated trail  approximately 15 minutes

  8. From Royalwood Must walk up to 700 metres to bus stop Approx. 19 minutes Infrequent service Limited hours

  9. TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS  Walking From  2.6 km Southdale  approximately 32 minutes  Cycling  2.6 km via street/trail  approximately 9 minutes

  11. Cold Weather  Walking and cycling options are limited by cold weather and distance.  Even transit is limited by cold weather with walks of up to 900 metres and wait time for the bus.

  12.  Service on Route 96 is limited to rush hours.  Departure times on Route 96 Limited do not correspond well to bell Schedules times, leaving:  2 and 33 minutes after the bell to Royalwood  19 minutes after the bell to Southdale  Travelling home to Royalwood and Southdale will be problematic on early dismissal days. First buses leave 47 and 62 min after bell.

  13. Summary The current busing options to get to and from Ecole Guyot school using Winnipeg Transit are limited. Further, even though early dismissal days are once a month, it will be a challenge for students to get home. Ecole Guyot parents are requesting the LRSD Trustees to review the current busing options to the school for students who will be in Grades 7 & 8 as the school transitions to a K-8 school. The parents are hoping that school buses or charter buses be added for students who will be attending the school from Royalwood and Island Lakes with hopefully no cost to the parents.
