Cold Weather Walking and cycling options are limited by cold weather and distance. Even transit is limited by cold weather with walks of up to 900 metres and wait time for the bus.
Service on Route 96 is limited to rush hours. Departure times on Route 96 Limited do not correspond well to bell Schedules times, leaving: 2 and 33 minutes after the bell to Royalwood 19 minutes after the bell to Southdale Travelling home to Royalwood and Southdale will be problematic on early dismissal days. First buses leave 47 and 62 min after bell.
Summary The current busing options to get to and from Ecole Guyot school using Winnipeg Transit are limited. Further, even though early dismissal days are once a month, it will be a challenge for students to get home. Ecole Guyot parents are requesting the LRSD Trustees to review the current busing options to the school for students who will be in Grades 7 & 8 as the school transitions to a K-8 school. The parents are hoping that school buses or charter buses be added for students who will be attending the school from Royalwood and Island Lakes with hopefully no cost to the parents.
