The Brentford Area Action Plan (BAAP) This is the spatial strategy for the continued regeneration of the Brentford area. It covers: • A vision and objectives for Brentford • Brentford’s Town Centre regeneration • Locally specific urban design and sustainable access • Protection of Brentford’s waterside facilities • Large scale arts, cultural, entertainment and leisure facilities • The Great West Road • Development sites in Brentford These areas will not be covered again in the Core Strategy
So how does the Core Strategy relate to the Isleworth and Brentford Area? The Core Strategy covers Borough wide issues , which can take a local focus . This includes the direction we take in planning for: • Housing • Town centres (except Brentford) • Community facilities • Open space • Sustainable design and construction • Tall buildings The Core Strategy covers all issues relating to the future of planning and development in Isleworth.
Isleworth and Brentford’s area priorities – how do we address them? Increasing community safety • Addressed in the Core Strategy Issues and Options consultation through options covering design. If we can ‘design out’ crime, this will increase community safety. Reducing traffic across the area • Addressed in the Core Strategy Issues and Options consultation through options on the location of future development, which can reduce the need to travel, and also use of sustainable means of transport.

Stage 2: September - October 2007 • How do we tailor future planning and development to the Isleworth and Brentford area? • Area based events • Focus groups All issues may not have been covered in the current consultation. Please tell us what we have missed so we can consider it for the next stage of consultation.
