Purpose of the clarification • To explain the requirements of this tender. • Tender extensions by suppliers must be requested 5 days prior closing date. • Eskom Standard Conditions of Tender must be read and understood by the Tenderers. • Complete tender documents in full and return all valid required returnable documents. • Clarification meeting will not be held, however the tenders are encouraged to request clarifications of the enquiry documents by notifying the Eskom Representative : thandi.xaba@eskom.co.za earlier than the closing time for clarification of queries. 12.04.2019 2
Avoid disqualification prior evaluation • Late Tenders are not acceptable under any circumstances. • Adhere to Tender Closing Date and Time – 10am Telkom time signal. • Correctional Fluid not acceptable on the Tender Documents. • Tender in duplicate, one original plus one copy. • The copy document must be the exact replica of the original document. • Return the mandatory tender returnables to Eskom for evaluation purposes by tender submission . Mandatory tender returnables will not be requested and may not be submitted after tender submission deadline. 12.04.2019 3
Other Important Information • Suppliers are advised not to use the Post Office for tendering, rather use courier services or drop tenders personally in the tender box. • Tenders not in the tender box or received by Eskom as stipulated in the Tender Data at the deadline for tender submission will be considered late. No late tenders will be accepted. • It is the supplier’s responsibility to ensure that the tender is in the tender box by closing date and time. • Eskom Employees are not allowed to launch tenders on behalf of the suppliers in the tender box. • Please ensure Tender Enquiry number and Tender Closing Da te is visible on your outer package. 12.04.2019 4

Tender Documents • The closing time for clarification of queries is 3 working days before the deadline for tender submission. • The tender shall be whole of the contract. • The tender shall be submitted as an original HARD COPY and 1 identical HARD COPY of the original which is to be compiled in the following format: • Section 1: Commercial / Financial Requirements(1 original & 1 copies) • Section 2: Technical Requirements (1 original & 1 copy) • Section 3: SHE Requirements (1 original & 1 copy) • Section 4: Quality Requirements (1 original & 1 copy) Failure to provide the necessary copies of the original in the stipulated quantities will immediately DISQUALIFY your tender from further evaluation. 12.04.2019 6
Tender Documents • Sign the tender documents. Eskom will hold the signatory named as the person duly authorised to sign the tender on behalf of the tenderer, liable for the tender. • Seal the original tender and the copy (ies) of the tender as separate packages marking the packages as “ORIGINAL” and “COPY”. Each package shall state the Eskom address on the outside, the Invitation to Tender number stated in the Tender Data , as well as the tenderers' name and address. 12.04.2019 7
Tender Evaluation • The evaluation of tenders will be done by the cross functional team consisting of commercial / financial, technical, SHE, Quality and SD&L. • The tender validity period is 12 weeks from the closing date and time. 12.04.2019 8
