FRUIT & VEGGIE SIDE BAR Provides students with more variety when selecting their fruit and veggie meal component • Desired outcome is that the increased selection will positively affect what students put on their trays and what they actually consume. • Currently piloting at HES, CMS and NHS. • Offers fresh veggies, fresh fruit and an assortment of commodity fruit. • All items offered must be domestic.

VISITS TO OTHER SCHOOL SYSTEMS Talbot County, Carroll County, Charles County and Harford County Public Schools  Searching for new menu items  Looking for ways to improve our marketing and the cafeteria experience  Hoping to incorporate breakfast in the classroom option at secondary schools to increase participation  Looking for ways to customize each school’s cafeteria (promote cafeteria name, hang student art work/achievements, allow students to participate in naming a menu item  Work with CTA on the development of healthy recipes that could be incorporated into the menu  Searching for ways to elicit more feedback/input
