BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT PRESENTATION Monday, September 22, 2014
GOAL OF TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTION New Jersey's Technology Standards consist of 8.1 Educational Technology and 8.2 Technology, Engineering, Design and Computational Thinking, which work symbiotically to provide students with the necessary skills for college and career readiness.
TECHNOLOGY CLASS Technology Class time is used for instruction in using basic functions of technology including word processing, document creation, using data tools, and research. Students use class time to create, explore, and learn to interact with technology. All instruction is based on the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards For Technology and integrated with grade level content areas.
COMMUNICATION I communicate with students and parents through my webpage. I update content on my webpage often, so please check it out! If you have questions or concerns, the best way to contact me is through email. I try to answer my email as quickly as possible, but please understand that at times it may take me up to a day to respond. msohn@swedesboro-woolwich.com
HOMEWORK Homework is assigned each week. The assignment is the same each week-to practice keyboarding skills. The goal of the practice is for students to learn the keyboard and be able to type without looking at the keyboard.
The answer to many of your questions may be found on my webpage. http://www.swedesboro-woolwich.com/Domain/263 NAVIGATING MY WEBPAGE
I use my webpage to communicate with students and keep everyone up- to-date on what is happening in Technology Class.
Each homeroom meets for technology once every 6 day cycle.
Technology assignments are graded and entered into PowerSchool weekly.
